LAS VEGAS – T.J. Grant officially will get the next shot at Benson Henderson's UFC lightweight title, and the fight could headline the organization's debut event on FOX Sports 1.

I kind of wanted to see him get another fight in first but I suppose there aren't any other true standouts. Thompson vs grant would be a great eliminator fight

Great fight. TJ Grant is an animal at LW. For some reason, i loved seeing Maynard getting a piece of what he intends to inflict every time he fights. Great Job TJ.

Yeah, I think Grant's earned it and I think he's an interesting stylistic challenge for the pawing jabs and wind-up kicks of Bendo. There's also the fact that few at 155 can match the size of Bendo, and Grant coming down from 170 might just be able to do that.

Stephen Thompson is a welterweight. Josh Thomson must be who you're thinking of.

Sherdog threw out a good fight along those lines - get Josh Thomson back in, but against Donald Cerrone. That's a war right there, and I'd even be happy with it as the main event on free TV.

Man I'm really liking the way grant is looking in his last few fights and totally deserves his shot. Super dangerous fight for benson, No idea how this one will play out but I suspect benson's athleticism will play a part somehow.

I like grant but he sure doesn't look or have the feel of a UFC champ ( whatever the fuck that means )

Fascinating given that the Ufc 164 presale starts this Wed with yet no main event or co main mentioned at all

I doubt gsp vs Hendricks.

Curious what main event will be now
