Immediately upon being released from Cain Velasquez's iron grip of doom, Antonio Silva shook his head. Of course, part of that was frustration after being routed by Velasquez yet again. But there was more to it than that

I thought it was a bit premature as well, but only saw 1 illegal blow. I haven't replayed it, but that is what I remember seeing. I thought it was a bit premature because he was still posting himself up on one hand and defending with the other. He wasn't going out and he was intelligently defending himself in my eyes. I do not think it would have had any effect on the outcome of the fight, but it is not my place or really the ref's place to make a decision on what he thinks might happen.
Again, I think within a minute or so more, Cain would have had Bigfoot in a spot where the fight should have been stopped. I always would rather see a fight stopped a bit too early than too late. For instance, the Maynard-Grant fight could have been stopped a couple of times before it finally was.

The ref in the Dos Santos fight let the fight go in very similar situation.

Basically the same stoppage as Roop-Bowles. I think when your head is being used as a kick stand for your body you have no room to object.

Just an excuse for losing.

Those strikes are not illegal when they are caused by a fighter turtleing. All respect to Bigfoot but it is more than a little cheap to complain about illegal strikes when you put yourself in that position.

I think it was premature, but i also thought Cain would slaughter him from there on had the fight continued. I think Bigfoot has a case for two or three shots to the neck. two directly on the back of the neck and one to the side.

I don't think it was too early of a stop, we are talking Shamrock vs Ortiz here...the end was very near, 1-2 shots away tops. He should probably understand that, dude was turtled up taking shots repeatedly from a guy who is renown for his GNP.
