LAS VEGAS – Jon Jones has been one of the UFC's most active champions, but his length of time for his return after his most recent title defense may turn out to be lengthy.

Jones (18-1 MMA, 12-1 UFC) injured his toe in his UFC 159 win over Chael Sonnen (27-13-1 MMA, 6-6 UFC). But now it appears the damage could have him on the shelf for perhaps even a half-year.

Well this will probably give the UFC the time it needs to figure out what is with the LHW and what will happen to the possible Super Fight.

The thing with this is I done my toe exactly the same during a training session on the eve a TKD fight. My toe slipped between the mats,I heard a crack, went to axe kick again before the instructor stopped me and told me to look at my toe, after a fuckin hell later, and a trip to A&E I was unable to train for 12 weeks, and then I was told by a surgeon that I could only train wearing martial art shoes as the likelihood of it happening again was huge, and an amputation was the most likely scenario. Now I know Jones would of had first class treatment from the off, and I had to wait 45 minutes for an ambulance which caused my bone marrow to start drying out, hence the amputation thing, but I would still be surprised if he is back before 12 weeks regardless of medical treatment.
