featherweight fight previously scheduled for UFC on Fox 7 looks to be re-scheduled for UFC 164 on August 31st. Ariel Helwani reported on last night's edition of UFC Tonight that Mendes and Guida still want to fight each other and that the UFC wants to make it happen:

So they take away Reem vs. Browne and give us this..I'm thinking this fight will look exactly like Maynard vs. Guida...hope i'm wrong.

Yes. I was hoping they'd still eventually do this fight. Hoping for no injuries because I want to see Guida get dropped.

Clay Guida forgets to fight against Gray, lays on Hioki and pulls out against Money. Only to be paired back against Money.

They must really want to see Clay get trashed.

I liked this fight a lot before because I think Clay will go back to his wild striking seeing as he doesn't have much of a shot anywhere else in this fight. I'd be quite surprised to see him take Mendes down and lay on him or out strike him

Should be a good fight. Money should be able to make Clay fight

Its been a weird year or two. Wasn't it just yesterday Clay Guida was one of the most exciting guys in the sport and Chad Mendes was just another LnP wrestler? Now Chad Mendes is taking scalps right and left, and Clay Guida dervishes his way out of all physical confrontations.

I really wanted to see Guida fight a complete an utterer lower tier wash out - just to see how on earth his stick and move - rinse wash and repeat strategy would finish a guy....

No disrespect to Guida but he does try his best to not work for the finish in recent fights and work in a way that makes his opponent not fight, and makes him not really fight either. We'll see what happens if Mendes can take him down
