Alistair Overeem's return to the octagon has been shifted from UFC 164 to the promotion's debut event on FOX Sports 1.

Mutiple sources close to the event today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that Overeem (36-12 MMA, 1-1 UFC) is set to meet fellow standout heavyweight Travis Browne (14-1-1 MMA, 5-1-1 UFC) at UFC on FOX Sports 1 1, which takes place Aug. 17 at TD Garden in Boston.

Although the fight will be part of the night's main card and a major attraction, it won't even be the main event, UFC President Dana White subsequently told MMAjunkie.com. That assures at least one other significant bout will be added to the card.

I kind of expected this as a match up. I think Reem should of got someone like Mir or Barnett, but this still makes for a good fight

Nice fight! This is Brownes toughest test to date IMO. Big Foot being a close 2nd. I expect the Reem to win .

That's why its on the card, everyone likes a short violent fight!

Both statements. I expect someone to be asleep before they hit the ground.

Someone is getting finished, I'll pick Overeem but I deffs think Browne has a chance, he's a great striker and super well rounded with solid TDD but Overeem has fought the best in the world and I think that experience will help him in what should be a fun fight

If Overeem doesn't finish the fight early, I think Browne can win this.
Actually, I'll be betting on Browne.
