Kind of weird. You figure the second he was a free agent, every org would give him a call. I can't imagine Bellator didn't extend an offer before now.

May not have been a deal he wanted. They always could have sweetened the deal

Maybe, but if you're playing ball already, seems odd you'd sign and then try to get yourself out of it. I can't imagine Bellator didn't make a nice offer.

One possible explanation: They know either War Machine or Daley won't be able to full in the tournament and want a bigger name to replace them.

Not really sure why anyone would want to get tied down to a Bellator contract, maybe he thinks he has a shot as Askren?

yeah, I'm not a fan of signing a contract and then pulling out of it. If you give your word then follow through

He didn't necessarily go back on his word though, Bellator bought out his contract with LFC. I would much prefer fighting in Bellator over LFC /MFC / etc...it's a bigger org with bigger names, more money and better tv deal.

Anyone think it may be more than just coincidence that Funky Askren said he has only been drug tested once in Bellator and now Riddle is breaking his contract to go there?

I bet you Riddle and Funky are gunna spend a lot of time playing frisbee together.
