Josh Barnett appeared on the MMA Hour on Monday and he had some interesting things to say on his fighting future and where he wants to finish his career.

I haven't read every single thing on what happened the last negotiations but it seems Josh thinks a little too highly of himself when it comes to being paid.

That and I think he wanted to be able to do his pro wrestling thing while under contract with the UFC. Dana and company won't let that happen

The fighting part of it, I’m game for all of it. I think it’d be a blast no matter where. But you can't just run out and start punching people without thinking about the business aspects of it.

Am I the only one who found that bit a little off? Isn't Josh the guy who said he gets paid $300K per fight regardless so he doesn't care who he fights, or words to that effect?

Josh turned down the UFC's offer because he felt he was worth more, the problem is that the UFC is the only organization with the resources to sustain such a contract. Given Josh's multiple PED infractions and the fact that he had just been beaten by Cormier, you can hardly blame the UFC for being hesitant to throw a truckload of money at him.

You're 35 years old Josh, you have a history of PED abuse and your starting to look rather sloppy in the cage. Not exactly the best position to be bargaining from with an organization that frankly doesn't need you.

With everything except that he looks sloppy in the cage...another point is to look at it from the UFC's point of view and take into account what happened after they signed Overeem...it's going to make people cautious man.
