I always root for Manhoef, but I think he is out matched in this one.

Khalidov via quick submission

With one loss in his last 26 fights, and a controversial one at that. he's beyond overdue for a step up to the UFC but do we know if he even wants to fight anywhere other than KSW? He's headlining events of the biggest promotion in his home country and after vacating the LHW title, he can have a MW title shot any time he tells them he wants one with a promotion that airs throughout most of Europe and on iPPV in the US. I just don't recall any times he's stated any intention of getting to the UFC.

He's even part of the KSW Fight Team, using their gym facilities part of the time he's training... I have no doubt he's paid very well by the organization, I believe also his managers are who own KSW. Contract negotiations must go pretty smoothly as they sit down with themselves. Sound similar to a world-renowned HW that never ended up making it to the UFC? I think he's content where he is as a headlining, well-known star in his home country who may be getting paid more than the UFC would want to offer. Plus what exactly do we think his management team being the KSW owners would recommend? Stay with their promotion as a huge attraction or lose a star sending him to the UFC at age 33 with 33 fights on the tires to try to become a star in a market where he's unknown.

I'd love to see it as there are so many top 10 MW matchups I'd love to see him in but I won't be holding my breath.

This fight is going to be so much fun while it lasts. I'm hoping Melvin gets a few shots in before he gets subbed. Manhoef is the hardest puncher in MMA, IMO.

Cool fight if it stays on the feet, Manhoef just has no ground game....
