Sounds to me like the offer they made him was probably a little better than what they would offer now considering he lost but not as good as what he feels he deserves, especially if he would have won. He would have some leverage if he had won, but now he's in a bad position to try to negotiate.

just doesnt make any sense to me, especially the way the ufc has been cutting fighters lately. even if he goes on a run & comes back, how much money are they going to throw at a guy who is 38 years old?

This is an interesting development. Not cut, but not active either. I suppose there are a few fighters like this. I have to side with the he's-38-already-what-does-he-expect-from-the-UFC crowd.

I read on mmaweekly that his fight against Nelson was his last fight on his contract and that the UFC isn't expected to offer him another. Should've taken the deal and tried to milk his final days in the UFC for all he could get. Where's this guy when you need him?
