So here's the place to BS about the things that went down last night. Here's my take on the evening.

1. Weird ass stoppages all night. it was a little bad luck and a little bit of bad refereeing that made it a weird night in terms of stoppages. A night like this doesn't happen too often.

2. I hate Cody McKenzie and Leonard Garcia and you should too. For one, it's arguable that either guy should even have still been in the UFC, and secondly those jerks were almost the hot bout. It wasn't because they had legions of fans behind them, it's because PG members picked against the guys they disliked more. I dare anyone to pick either of them in the next fight they get inside or outside of the Octagon.

3. Roy Nelson, like him or not, is the superhero of the everyman. That guy goes out and knocks people out. People he has no business knocking out if you're watching MMA for the first time, especially. This has all been said before and it's going to be said again, but damn I love this guy. He makes MMA fun for more than just the diehards.

4. If that title fight gets to the end of round 1, we might just have a new LHW champ by default due to injury. It could definitely be argued that it was stopped too soon, even if Chael was agreeing with it during the post fight interview. We were about an asshair away from one of the crazier turns of events in recent UFC history.

Belcher having them cut his tape off while announcing him in the cage. Yancy's thumb. Jon's toe. Buffer calling the wrong name. Gian Villante answering "no" to the "can you see?" question, but wanting to keep fighting. The ref not asking a doc to check Gian out before having fight stopped, yet having a ref check Belcher's obviously bleeding eye before calling his fight. Really weird night. Hopefully I'll forget this event very soon.

Fuck guys, I forgot the ankle tape being cut off, and most importantly Buffer fucking up for what I'm pretty sure is the first time ever. This was a crazy ass event for sure. Glad you guys brought this stuff up.

Now I'm not sure if I should be grateful or upset that work has once again prevented me from seeing a UFC event. Am I missing having been outraged or what exactly. I know listening to the post fight presser Dana White mentioned it was one of the most bizarre night of fights he's seen for the UFC.

If kesha filled in for buffer like I planned for jjeans, buffer would still have his perfect record. Based on other weirdness of the night, it wouldn't have surprised me if they gave miller the w because buffers word is law.

He messed up in one of the recent events. Think it was the GSP/Diaz card. In one of Dana's V-logs it showed him and Dana joking about the screw up.

He usually goes a while in between fuck ups. However, this is the 2nd time in a few events. I believe it was 158 in Montreal - he announced Hendricks/Condit as the "main event of the evening."

Definitely a strange night.

If Chael had survived the round, it would have been ridiculous. He would have been the first guy to win a belt from the fetal position.

that would have topped the Hamill loss.

It really was an odd event. An entertaining night, but the eye poke stoppages were bad. Not that they shouldn't have been stopped, but no one likes to see a fight end that way.

Roy Nelson KO'ing Kongo in the first though, everyone likes to see a fight end that way
