Rules
TL;DR: I decided to cook up a new MMA simulator game using the same sim that Chris Sabal used on his (WMMA3 - Modern Warriors 13 Mod with UFC fighters). -This will be a world cup format. So there will be 8 players drafting 32 fighters in a snake style draft (order randomly selected). Each player gets 4 fighters once the draft is over. Once everyone has their guy, they are all randomly placed in groups. Some groups will be better than others. Some groups may have multiple fighters belonging to one player. --- TIEBREAKER: Everyone plays everyone else in each group (3 fights) The two top fighters in each group move forward to the Round of 16. In the event of a tie, we will base the ranking on the head to head match. This applies to deciding first place or deciding who qualifies for the Round of 16. A three way tie in a group will only happen when one fighter is 3-0, and the rest are 1-2; or when three fighters are 2-1, and the other is 0-3. In the first case, the fighter who was finished quickest by the undefeated or got the least points from the judges will be eliminated from the tie breaker and of the other two, the head to head winner moves ahead. In the second case, the fighter who finished the winless fighter the slowest or got the least points from the judges will be eliminated. --- ELIGIBILITY: My criteria for picking someone is that they have to have weighed in at the selected weight OR LESS in the last 3 years. That means Anderson Silva & Jon Jones are eligible in the HW and LHW draft. You can pick Jose Aldo if you want.. just don't expect him to defeat top-level HW's. We will make every fighter available again after each weight class tournament is over. PM me with any questions or concerns!

I'm in.

In the last paragraph you're saying we should stick to the higher weight classes because it's an open weight grand prix?

i was gonna do a draft for each weight class. But yea as long as the fighter can make said weight or less he's eligible. So I imaging Anderson will go in the HW, LHW, and MW drafts.

Does everyone like this idea? If no one else does, I'm not married to it and don't mind scrapping it. I just thought like having GSP or Weidman eligible late in the LHW draft would be interesting to see rather than like the #30th ranked LHW. The sim lets me do any match I want, so don't worry about that (I've done Overreem vs. Mighty Mouse many times now )

Oh, okay. I see. That makes more sense. Will it be like Chris's in the sense that once a fighter is picked in a weight class we can't use him again or will we make every fighter available again after each weight class tournament is over?

One spot remains! Once player #8 signs up, I'll randomize the draft order and we'll kick it off! Remember, this being the HW draft you can pretty much pick anyone (because you have the option to select fighters who weigh less than the given weight class).

The draft order will be....
1. P_F - Cain Velasquez
2. Shane
3. Budge
4. P_S
5. jakewalters
6. Pookie
7. jjeans
8. Rabi

It's a snake order draft so Ray has picks #8 & 9, Jay has picks #7 & 10, PF #1 & 16, etc. Fighters will be put into groups randomly after the draft.

Good luck all! I will update who has who and the groupings on the first post once the draft is over

Your pick P_F!

Btw.. we'll do a 36 hour time limit for picks -- when your time elapses you'll get the next best fighter at the selected weight class on FightMatrix.
