This week in the world of MMA is The Ultimate Fighter Finale. This year marks the 17th season of the show. Here at The MMA-Analysis we like to break down everything, so I have decided to break down winners of The Ultimate Fighter from the United States. We will be looking at their record after winning The Ultimate Fighter & many other stats. (Read the whole article for all the stats.)

Let’s begin with T.U.F. Winners overall win percentage after winning the show

T.U.F. winners are a combined 124-83-1, which equals a 59% win rate.

Finishing Rate of T.U.F. Winners

Out of those 124 wins, 62 came by KO/TKO or Submission which is exactly a finishing rate of 50%.

As betting favorites

T.U.F. Winners are 94-24-1 which equals a 79% win rate
As betting underdogs

T.U.F. Winners are 18-47 which equates to a terrible winning percentage of 30%

Ultimate Fighter Finales: Favorite vs Underdog

Underdogs are 9-6 in T.U.F. Finales
Favorites are 6-9
Underdogs of +180 are 7-3 in T.U.F. Finales

In hindsight some of these odds are insane.

Why were Diaz, Amir (Even after beating Dollaway on the show already), Bader and Pearson underdogs? Bader at +180 over Vinny is baffling.

Thanks for the info! It's almost unbelievable that Uriah Hall sits at -325. It's somewhat tempting to place a small bet on Gastelum who has shown he has what it takes to beat tough competition so far.

People knew diaz didn't have the right style to beat someone with a heavy top game like manny has. Amir was an underdog majority of the show, beating dollaway on the show, people thought it was a fluke. Reason why bader was an underdog is because of vinnys jiu jitsu game, it's unbelievable. And Pearson, I agree he shouldn't have been an underdog. Hope that kinda gives you a bit of an explanation.
