Retirement isn't imminent for ex-UFC champion Rashad Evans, nor was it prior to his UFC 156 fight against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

He had one off night against Little Nog. He's top 5 at 205, and he'd probably be top 3 at 185. Retirement talk is nonsensical.

Also the only title fight against jones that went the distance, which actually says a lot imo. This is just the case with athletes these days, and fighters in particular; the media seems to build up these talks any time something goes slightly wrong. Then again, with the nick diaz's of the world retirement seems to be a very common and non binding process.

Ever since Machida made Rashad do the fish out I water dance Rashad has been fighting safe and boring (w/ exception of Tito). I'm glad they are having him fight Dan. Dan rarely has a boring fight.

Rashad could be good at 185 because it seems like there is a lack of wrestlers there but anyone who thinks Rashad would have a chance against Andy is insane.

Rashad needs to move back up to HW.

List of fighters who dropped down only to ruin their career: Vera, Florian, Diego, Shields, Edgar (soon to be).

There are definitely some mid-tier guys it has helped like Siever and some of the other dudes that were never really 155ers

But bigger is better. Chael knows it. Fedor knows it. DC knows it.

Its either LHW or MW

True but he was/is undefeated at HW and Forrest is/was one of the weaker 205 champs. It's not that much of a stretch to think Rashad would have been the HW champ had he stayed. Randy had the belt at the time I believe (another 205er).
