Mark Hunt asked for it, he (eventually) got it, and now he's a big underdog. As expected, oddsmakers have made former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos a large favorite over Mark Hunt for their UFC 160 heavyweight bout. Here's a look at the line (via BestFightOdds):

At those odds I'm definitely putting money on Hunt.

most of the times I lost betting on mma was when I bet on the sentimental old school favorite to beat the next generation star.

I'd say those odds are about right where they should be. Hunt can win by one big punch but Junior is the better mma fighter.

War Mark Hunt, But i think JDS gets a sub at some point, I love hunt but he started to look tried in the Struve fight, JDS can take a hit, Hunt has tremendous power so I love Hunt but the smart pick here is JDS probably with a sub, Even though we haven't see much of his BJJ game. But hopefully Hunt catches him and puts him out.

Mark Hunt's Ground game is light years better than it was a couple of years ago, but I dont see this fight going to the ground. I see this going to a decision with dos santos winning, if dos santos is smart he will avoid the take downs and hunts power using his speed and awesome defense and ko counterpunching, otherwise hunt could easily stun or ko him; Hunt is a frigging beast with awesome ko power. Dos Santos has to fight him smart then he might get the KO.
Dos Santos lost a few lives in surviving against Cain so hes gotta be cautious and hit with counters hard and fast.

Awesome Awesome match up....I like both these guys!!

I won't sell the farm on Hunts ground game yet, yes it is much better. But i still don't think he'd fare well against a Mir,Nog, and Certainly not Cain on the ground.I give him a punchers chance against Mir,Nog but Cains takedowns and aggresiveness would wear Hunt down hardcore....and Hunt is my favorite fighter, i just pick with my head not with my heart...but in a perfect world hunt will KTFO of all them.

Hunt retains his power longer than Junior, even though he gasses quicker. However, both do gas within three in a striking battle.

At +300 Hunt is a good bet. Him to win 25% of the time striking is a steal. I dont think a tall lean guy with predominantly striking muscles is going to have much success wrestling down the stalkiest fighter in the ufc.

Junior is definitely going to have a hard time striking with hunt. i like hunts odds standing but if it goes to the ground i can see jds maintaining top position and winning a UD. A kimura is the submission i see hunt losing by if he were in fact subbed.

Damn i want hunt to win. PRIDE all the way baby

If they fought three times I would bet that ever fight but, realistically JDS beats him similar to Carwin

I love me some Mark Hunt, and I love his line even more, but I would not want to be the guy fighting JDS after losing his title.

Hunt is going to get punched in the face a lot in this fight I think it's all going to come down to the chin. And as long as he doesnt fight like Nelson throwing shit around like a monkey he'll do better
