Interim bantamweight title contender Michael McDonald offered a fascinating insight into his mindset on Wednesday, telling ESPN he has no idea what he is going to do when he enters the Octagon.

McDonald takes on Renan Barao in Saturday's main event at London Arena, and he carries the tag of underdog due to Barao's impressive 29-fight win streak.

The 22-year-old, who can become the youngest UFC champion with victory, is not like most other fighters though, insisting he has no game plan. For McDonald, everything he does is natural instinct.

I like McDonald's instincts! Hopefully they serve him well Saturday night. Barao is a bad ass though, both are great fighters

hopefully he has a smart cornerman who can guide correctly between rounds. i hate to see him have no game plan because what happens if he can get any momentum and his instincts do him no good. somebody will need to tell him what he needs to do to get inside baraos attack. im not feeling very good about mickey D's chances anymore.

I never thought he had much of a chance on skills alone. He just hits ridiculously hard and if Barero gets into a slugfest I think Mikey puts him to sleep
