Jake Shields definitely but he chooses no to fight in the UFC. Matt Lindland, Shaolin, and Akira Kikuchi.

Ugh Matt Lindland...Yes he is probably the best fighter not involved with Pride or the UFC, but he is the only one to blame. Dana told him if wore the shirt to the ring he would be fired, so he went out with the shirt on. I could understand if it was something stupid like Dana didn't want him wearing a Team Punishment shirt because he hates Tito, but it wasn't. Anyone can see why the president of a major sports organization wouldn't want his employee wearing a sports wagering web site's t-shirt.

Shaolin is taking a break from MMA why he tries to make the Olympic wrestling team.

Condit is for the most part under contract with the UFC since he is signed to the WEC.

I think Jake Shields is by far the most deserving. In 2006 he defeated the WEC WW champ. The first ever UFC MW champ, and Okami who is one win away from a title shot, and in the main event of the next PPV.

My less obvious choice would be Bang Ludwig. Seriously WTF Zuffa? I know he has a few losses recently out side of the UFC, but he is 2-0 inside the Octagon. He holds the fastest KO in UFC history. Not to mention he helped the UFC out both times he did fight in the UFC taking the bouts on short notice due to the original fighter getting injured.

Though it was Lindland's own fault, I think it is time Dana moves on. The thread is which fighter deserves a UFC contract and Lindland does though he probably never will.

Good call on Duane Ludwig though. If he beats Daley on June 22 (Paul Daley would be a great addition to the UFC too), he definitely needs to be picked up by the UFC.

I'll add Ben Rothwell, from the IFL.

25-5. 14 wins by (T)KO, 10 by Submission, only 1 Decision. Losses to Tim Sylvia, Mike Whitehead and Dan Christison, but he's training with MFS and is on an 11-fight win streak. Nobody in the IFL has really challenged him (Christison recently joined the IFL and lost his first 2 fights). I've read somewhere that the IFL will be awarding individual belts at a mini-tournament at the end of the year; they might as well just give it to Rothwell now and call it a title defense.

Have you seen his fight against Roy Nelson? It was a close fight, but I would have definatly given Roy the nod. That being said, I still think that Rothwell is the best HW in the IFL. I'm assuming he didn't bring his A game that night, and if they were to ever rematch he would know what to expect from Nelson and develop a successful game plan accordingly.

Actually, I haven't. Of Rothwell's 6 or 7 fights in the IFL, I've only seen 4, I think. Sounds intriguing. He should get a rematch with Christison someday, too.

Kid Yamamoto and they need to give Amar Suloev another go around. He lost his first two UFC matches, but one was against Liddell and the other against Baroni and he almost took Baroni. Amar is one of the best up and comers around, I hope the UFC gives him another chance (IF PRIDE ends up folding)

clearly Brock Lesnar (K-1) deserves and will shortly receive a UFC contract.
