SI.com has confirmed through multiple sources that UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture has signed into a multi-year deal with Spike TV, a property of Viacom, to appear in multiple projects for the cable channel, as well as other possible ventures within the media conglomerate's family of networks.

As a part of the multi-faceted agreement, Couture's first role will be as a coach in the forthcoming Bellator MMA reality Series, which begins shooting in February and airs later this year.

I have always been confused by Randy Couture decision making skills and this sort of thing reminds me why.

Got any examples? It just sounds to me like you're nuthugging the UFC.

I know a lot of people like this move by Couture, but I personally think it's sad. I mean there is no loyalty anymore. The UFC has treated Couture as their poster boy and this is the second time now he has gone against the UFC and stabbed their back. Say what you want about Dana White and about the UFC, but the matter of the fact is THEY were the ones who invested in the UFC, AND THEY were the ones who have built the sport to what it is today. I'm sick of fighters going against the UFC and bitching. Say what you want but I think this move is ridiculous. And yes this is a rant.

Couture has proven many times he'll do whats right for him, and Dana White has proven many times that he'll be a giant baby about it.

????

So couture isnt allowed to have a job?? Unless its with the UFC?? That's bogus man. You say Dana and what not invested in the UFC. Ok yeah so. Couture actually was a fighter in the UFC. A person that brought the fans in. He's given to the UFC just as much if not more then they have given him.

Don't know what the big deal is. The UFC doesnt/shouldn't control Randy Coutures life. That's like the Olympics saying he couldn't fight in the UFC or his college saying the same thing.

I don't see any ufc nuthuggery at all.. All I see is you bitching

Randy would not have done this if the Ufc had something better to offer.. Like what George said, it's like the Olympic commission getting angry he joined the Ufc.

I think this will be good for business in both organisations.. Competition breeds progress

It's obvious that money sings. Curious what Dana says
But couture as a coach is a big ratings boost
Bet down the road tito is a coach as well
I do like this even though loyalty does come into question

Good point, not saying anyone is right or wrong. I'm just stating my view on the subject.
