link The lead singer of the Ohio Players, Sugarfoot Bonner, died over the weekend. I'm guessing not a ton of people here are big Ohio Players fans, but they're one of my favorite groups ever, and without them you wouldn't have heard the Chili Pepper's cover their song "Love Rollercoaster". When it came to funk, it was them and Parliament head and shoulders above the rest. Here are a couple of their songs:
