As the UFC and Bellator square off to debate his contract, Eddie Alvarez is left in limbo without a fight.

In the end Bellator could be doing Eddie a favor by matching offers here and pushing his pricetag for the UFC up. It might end up being a good thing for him even though he may have to sit for longer than he wants to.

UFC are trying to trump Bellators offer by offering Eddie a PPV bonus. That means an event headliner for Eddie. Which would likely mean, Eddie vs Bendo for the belt.
Is Zuffa serious? Are they trying to stall and make Eddie wait in limbo? They don't need or even want Eddie that badly. I think they're just trying to screw with Bellator.
Zuffa passed up on Eddie before, and let him got to Bellator the first time because they didn't want to pay Eddie what he asked for. Now (after he lost to Chandler) they are willing to give him a million+ for doing a PPV?
Would the casual fan care much about Eddie vs Bendo? Is it worth that much to Zuffa? I don't think so. They're not willing to over-pay to get Aoki, or Kawajiri, and they didn't mind having Melendez stay in Strikeforce but they want Eddie so badly? I don't know. I Think this is Zuffa playing hardball with Bellator. Which means that despite Dana's talk, Zuffa is worried enough about Bellator on Spike to offer Eddie a PPV bonus.
Competition is good. Eddie would be getting offered $10k to fight for the UFC if it wasn't for Bellator. Bellator on Spike will force UFC to treat their fighters better, and give us a better product.

Bellator isn't screwing anyone Eddie signed a contract he needs to honor it. It sucks but it's not like this is a hidden clause in the fine print. We've been hearing about it for the last 6 months. Bellator helped to build his brand they have a right to protect and promote their's as well.

What he said. I don't feel all that bad for him he is infact the guy who signed the Bellator deal that had a matching period right?

i gotta agree. he needs to stay active. if he goes to the ufc after a huge layoff with a bunch of hype and then loses, a lot of people will be disappointing.
