After 127 pro MMA fights over more than 17 years, UFC Hall of Famer Dan Severn finally is calling it quits. The 54-year-old legend made the news official on Tuesday on his official website.

Severn's one of the best guys in MMA. Down to earth guy with a blue collar work ethic and style, yet he's super educated and diversified in business. I too would've liked a final run against his fellow legends, but I'm honestly as pleased to see him go out on a win and with such a massive number of fights.

Next round I have at a pub will be in Severn's name. Awesome fighter, awesome guy.

I fondly remember watching his first UFC bout and thinking "This guys doesn't look like much of a fighter". Then he suplexed Anthony Macias to pieces. It ruled.
