Cub Swanson doesn't care what anyone else thinks. As far as he's concerned, his next fight is for top contender status in the featherweight division.

Call it a motivational tactic. Call it hope. Call it whatever. That's what he's telling himself.

Swanson (18-5 MMA, 3-1 UFC) will meet Dennis Siver (21-8 MMA, 10-5 UFC) in the co-main event of UFC on FUEL TV 7 in February, and even if the winner doesn't get the next crack at champion Jose Aldo, he'll certainly find himself right there at the top of the heap.

UFC on FUEL TV 7 takes place Feb. 16 at London's Wembley Arena. The main card airs on FUEL TV following prelims on Facebook.

I think Lamas is still ahead of him but this fight should be great. I can't tell if Siver is just THAT beastly at FW or if Nam Phan on short notice is garbage.

chances are Koch/Lamas winner is first in line, but the winner of this fight should be next. Both on impressive win streaks, although Siver would be better equipped to fight Aldo if he is still the champ

I'd like to see Siver get a shot. He's a tough dude with a lot of power.

Im on board the Swanson express, I think he will be too fast for Siver. It would be a great matchup though.

I wouldn't mind seeing winner face Korean zombie

While Koch vs lamas as next title shot.
