According to Diego Sanchez, rumors of a bout with Takanori Gomi in Japan are true. Sanchez has been saying for a while that he was going to drop back to the lightweight division for his next bout, but it hadn't been confirmed who he'd be facing off with or where it would be. Talk of a fight with Gomi at UFC on Fuel 8 on March 3rd in Japan popped up last month, and Sanchez has apparently confirmed the news today via twitter:

The news is out SO HERE HAS IT I WILL BE FIGHTING GOMI IN JAPAN.... this is a dream of mine coming up during the pride days #dominate #yes

Sick card

Wandy vs stann
Stun gun vs siyar
Tavares vs fukuda
Struve vs hunt
Sanchez vs gomi

I would pay for this if it was a ppv

Yeah, this card is stacking up extremely well. Hopefully the injury bug doesn't get a hold of it.

This fight should be great. I expect Sanchez to take some heavy shots, but continue to move forward the entire fight. Should be very exciting.

As long as Diego doesn't get sloppy and knocked out he should take this fight rather easily

Fireworks...can't wait. Someones getting finished. Diego I guess would be the favorite, but he needs to be careful in this fight with just going nuts, Gomi has pretty decent one punch KO power.

Ill take Diego

Great day of fights being announced today. Im really excited about this Japan card but with reservation. We all know a few fights on this card will end up getting cancelled eventually do to last minute injury. Just look at the Roy Nelson/ Carwin card. Was one of the best free cards then injuries killed it. Maynard injured vs Lauzon, Shane shooting up Carwin not able to fight Roy burger Nelson.tc. And other fights cancelled.

I'm glad Diego Sanchez made the move to Lightweight. He's usually very entertaining as well. Entertaining fights with Guida and Nick Diaz come to mind. He even had one of the top Welterweights Jake Ellenberger in trouble in the 3rd round of his last fight. Gomi's got a great record in Asia though. I predict this fight as early FOTN.
