Saturday's UFC on FOX 5 event was a ratings success for FOX. The broadcast, officials on Tuesday said, averaged 4.4 million viewers on Saturday night. That total is an 83 percent increase over UFC on FOX 4 in August.

I'm sure both Fox and the UFC are pleased with those numbers. The next event should pull decent numbers too, as there should be nothing competing with it.

They should however try and have a heavyweight fight on every Fox main card, it's no secret that HW's draw.

Glad to see viewership is on the up and up again. Anyone think they could surpass the numbers from FOX 1 by the time 2013 ends?

Not unless they have another killer card with 1 or more Title fights

seemed like the short Fox 1 show and the slow pace of Fox 2 did a little short term damage to the brand for casual fans. It's good that the number was high AND that those 4.4 million saw a really entertaining show.
