Serious questions, and serious answers please.

In an MMA fight

Q: Frankie Edgar Vs James Tony...
Would Edgar Beat tony by taking him down regardless of the weight advantage?

In a strictly BOXING match

Floyd Mayweather Vs Brock Lesnar
(does weight matter when the skill level is so different?)

agreed. Once Edgar grabbed a leg, Toney would be done. Brock wouldn't even be able to touch Floyd in a boxing match

This thread reminds me of one from a few years ago: Jose Aldo vs Big Show

but I wouldn't bet on Money, Lesnar has a 7 inch height advantage and 81 reach think? Imagine if Lesnar Clinched, Like a Polar bear hugging a seal.

Mayweather would never put himself in a position to be clinched by Lesnar.

Yeah, I'm thinking in a boxing match that Mayweather could avoid Lesnar's punches while landing his own for the entire fight.
As Lesnar would tire, Mayweather would keep punching accurately, often.

I see Lesnar pulling a Tyson and bitting off an ear or attempting some crazy ass move. I just can't imagine Brock disciplined enough to actually attempt to straight out purely box.

Frankie would beat Toney, and Lesnar would murder mayweather in a boxing match.

Mayweather is god amongst men...at his weight class. If Mayweather were to fight Lesnar, it would look like a dump truck running over Elmo. Even if Mayweather could hit Lesnar, flush, I don't know if he'd have the power to knock him out...seriously. And how would Mayweather get through Lesnar's reach? Lesnar isn't some big oaf, remember, the dude is as fast as a middleweight. All Lesnar would need to land is one punch, even if it wasn't clean.

Not to mention that Mayweather is at his best as a defensive fighter...I am fairly certain that wouldn't be the best strategy against Lesnar.

Good points. I can see Lesnar taking Mayweather with strikes I'm just not sure how many of them would be legal in a boxing match. LOL.

Do you think that Mighty Mouse could beat James Toney in an MMA fight?

In an MMA fight? Yes.
Despite the considerable size difference I think this harkens back to the early days of the UFC. Little guy with lots of skills is far greater than big guy with limited skills. My two cents.
Tony could just stick jabs out all night and win but that's my gut feeling.
