Barao coach Pederneiras would prefer title shot, but doesn't want fighter to wait.
Nova Uniao leader and coach Andre Pederneiras on Wednesday told MMAjunkie.com he's waiting on UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby's call to tell him when and where UFC interim bantamweight champ Renan Barao is fighting next.
"If I had a choice, I would rather Renan fight Dominick (Cruz), but I don't want to wait too long," Pederneiras said.

I think Renan will destroy who ever the UFC puts against him anyways so might as well defend it and make a statement.

i agree. i think after his win over faber it showed that dominick is the only fight left for him to prove he's the best. i think dominick is gonna get beatdown when he returns.

Michael McDonald is another he needs to beat, and a tough test I think.

Ive never seen an interim champ get so much love with the champ already getting written off. If Cruz never tore his ACL I think he beats Barro 7 out of 10 times. I think Cruz is beyond underrated, the guys never lost at bantamweight & people still think hes always going to lose without respecting him as a champ. Unfortunately I think he has the toughest matchup in the division coming up for his first fight back so I could see him losing because he relies on his knee/footwork so much that if his knee is the slightest bit off then his whole game will suffer. Aside from gsp & Frankie Edgar i dont know whos really got better MMA wrestling then Cruz. He always outworks his opponets with takedowns & defends them masterfully but i dont know how that will fare with a healthy & motivated Barro
