The UFC today suspended one fighter and targeted sanctions for another following positive post-fight drug tests at UFC 153.

Stephan Bonnar tested positive for the steroid Drostanolone and was suspended for one year. Dave Herman came back positive for marijuana and was earmarked for a suspension and drug treatment program.

UFC Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Marc Ratner confirmed the news with MMAjunkie.com, adding that the promotion expects to introduce a new drug testing policy by the end of the year.

I personally think Bonnar did it because he knew he wouldn't be returning. Deep down he knew he was getting a beat down and then retiring

I'm surprised they're even bothering to be honest. I figured they would kick him to the curb.

Waste of time and money to send a weed smoker to rehab. Not to mention everyone in there is going to think he's a douchebag because no one on this planet should ever go to rehab for smoking weed.

Yup. The UFC is trying to make itself look good by doing this. They better foot the bill WWE style.

Marijuana "abuse" is actually the most common substance abuse rehabilitation, which any good spin artist will relay withholding the fact that 99+ percent of marijuana rehabilitation is court ordered.

In short, he will be in a facility with a bunch of other offenders that plan of smoking a blunt when they go home.

They often immediately axe murder several people directly after toking followed by cooldown rape and doritos.

Me too. Maybe he took the fight mid-cycle and didn't have time to get it out of his system.
