It appears that UFC middleweight Chris Weidman has some serious stuff to worry about right now that has nothing to do with fighting. Weidman, who lives near Baldwin Harbor, NY, has apparently lost his home to Hurricane Sandy. Ryan Bader tweeted about it earlier:
Thoughts go out to @chrisweidmanufc & his family. Lost his home in the storm on the east coast. Please show him your support. @magllc @ufc

I am sorry for the families that lost a loved one...
The saddest stories I have seen is a hospital that lost power bringing babies that needed machines to breathe down 9 flights of stares and using hand pumps to keep them alive....
IM more curious if insurance pays out the full price they bought their home for or what its worth now...Im guessing it was insured for the purchase price...
I know in cases like this insurance will also give a check for all the valuables in the home....actually what they would be to replace...not a bad deal to me...
In the short term it may seem sad but I bet most are laughing happy when the check rolls in...
I wish the storm would have came my way and blown my house clear off the foundation...

Yes actually.
In-sur-ance A practice by which a company provides a guarantee of compensation for specified loss, damage, illness, or death in return for payment...
Sucks to hear about Chris, luckly his family left and he only stayed behind to protect the house. Hopefully he's okay and can still fight. Maybe UFC will give him a super bonus.

No I mean I dont have it on regular internet browsing. When youre done being a dick you can explain why everyone on these boards feels the need to attack me over unrelated nonsense today.
I imagine he has insur.. in... ehem inssssurAnce? And I imagine the company will try to shaft him and all the NY victims like companies did with Katrina, but he will be okay because NY isnt populated by poor uneducated black people.
ie... NY should be able to rebuild.

I'd guess the majority of North East doesn't have flood insurance. I'm not from anywhere near the area, but that's just my guess.

And I'm pretty sure if the insurance company decides your home wasn't destroyed by flood, but by wind, you would need that certain insurance (wind insurance) instead to get anything.
So it's not as easy as: praying your house get's blown off the foundation in order to get a fat-ass check.
