Josh Koscheck is coming back to UFC in 2013 and he's already got a handful of opponents in mind for his Octagon return, including Nick Diaz, Jake Ellenberger, Rory MacDonald and Demian Maia.
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight number one contender Josh Koscheck has been to the promised land once before. Sure, he came up short in his bid to dethrone Georges St. Pierre at UFC 124, but he's not getting any younger.
And he doesn't have time to dick around with the middle of the pack.

He beats Ellenberger and Maia, loses to Diaz. Rory would be a close fight and can go either way imo

I agree with Ellenburger, but I think Maia beats him in a close one, Maia dooes well against wrestlers and Rory and Nick I think would both eat Koschecks' breakfast quickly.

I think Rory's the most dangerous guy in the division, other than GSP. Look how he dominated the number 1 contender till he got caught... and that was one of his first fights! Koscheck could take Ellenberger or Maia on a good day, but Diaz and MacDonald would be too much

Ha that's funny, I see him having a more difficult time with Ellenberger than Maia. I can't remember the last time Kos was subbed, but then again I also said that about Rick Story . As for Diaz, he could outwrestle him if he so chooses, but his game plans never seem to reflect his number one strength.

I'd like to see Koscheck vs Diaz it would be interesting to see if he'd use his wrestling more or even be able to

I'm not sure if Koscheck beats any of these 4 guys. I definitely see all 4 of these fights being close and entertaining at the same time.
The fight I see Koscheck having the best chance of winning is against Maia. And since the drop to Welterweight Maia has been very impressive. So I'm not sure if he could win that one either.
I think Ellenberger, Nick Diaz and Rory Mac all win. With Rory already scheduled w/ B J Penn and Nick still serving his suspension unti Feb. 3rd 2013 Ellenberger and Koscheck makes the most sense to me since they were already suppose to fight and be the Co-Main event at UFC 151.

If Josh wrestled Diaz its about as close to a lock as you can get. Diaz has never beat a powerful wrestler. What would make anyone think that would change?

Koschecks seeming unwillingness to truly use his wrestling to it's full potential is what sticks out to me as how Diaz could beat him.

A win over nick puts him right in the thick of things. I have to think he would know his boxing won't match Diaz and his best route to victory is to wrestle. But as you said Kos has a mind of his own to be sure

And I think Ellenberger is more underrated than Koscheck. Going back to September 2009 when Ellenberger lost a split decision to Condit he's won 7 out of 8. And that lost against Kampmann was very close to a 45 second 1st Round TKO win for Ellenberger. If Ellenberger would have pulled that off he'd be fighting the GSP vs Condit winner.
