Farrar says "In our opinion, it's actually safer than a one-on-one fight," he said. "There's no elevated risk to the fighters. There's no blow that they could sustain in a two-on-two that they couldn't sustain in a one-on-one."

I have to disagree with this statement 100% and frankly I don't know how he could make such claims with a straight face.

This is a crazy idea and I can't believe any athletic commission in their right minds would sanction something like this.

In the last few years MMA has made great progress in "clearing it's name"....this could set that process back.

2 on 2? Why not 3 on 3 or 4 on 4? Where does it end? 10 vs.10? 20 vs.20? Let's just have a medieval melee tournament for crying out loud.

This is a horrendous idea that if allowed to happen will be detrimental to the sport.

Although exciting, this seems quite dangerous and not a good move for MMA and trying to legitimize itself as a serious sport and not just a brutal caveman sport

The next logical step is the crowd determining what weapon the disadvantaged fighter gets to use.

I would watch this all day. Back in the carnival days, they would do this with ten people all fighting each other, and it was called a "Boombattle".

I would watch it too, but I don't think it should be called MMA as this is something totally different, IMO. It's a lot easier to sell it with the MMA title though with the popularity of the sport as high as it is. ZST lives on through Chance Farrar!

This is probably not going to have a happy ending for a lot of the people involved BTW, and I'm not saying it's a good idea by saying I'd watch. I'm just a sucker for a trainwreck.

I'm interested. I can see all the hate for sport purposes but this is a throwback to karate, a real fight.

When discussing pointless, time-wasting endeavors, karate has to be the FIRST activity you consider

Though, you gotta love that the Japanese karatea drink their own urine in an effort to connect with their forgotten ancestors
