I will start off by saying that you listening to metal and running a blog gives you no more bearing in this discussion then if you were to have not stated those facts. Totally irrelevant and it is all based on opinion.

Genres are subjective and that was the point I was trying to make. Where your from if yall use heavy metal as the term you described then great. But where I'm from right here in Texas we don't use the term like that.

Secondly im not sure what your post was trying to accomplish other then in the end saying that I was right and acknowledging the fact that I said at the very beginning is was heavy metal. It seemed you needed to take it a step further and validate your superior metal knowledge by adding in the deathcore stuff. And by also saying that I said deathcore wasn't metal. Like I said use google or YouTube and you will find people arguing until their fingers bleed about which bands are in what genre. Deathcore.hardcore. metalcore. Melodic deathmetal. Parkway drive fits into more then one of those categories and IMO when I say they are heavy metal it is to avoid pointless arguments like these that so often frequent metal YouTube videos and what have you.

So in conclusion I stand by what I said that they are heavymetal not deathcore because I will not bind them to being lumped into just one subgenre. That being deathcore. Now like you said their are purist bands that stay true to their established genres . I don't have to list them because I'm sure you already know what I'm talking about and if not its ok because in the end it seems we are not going to agree.

Hey dude, this is your quote:

"That's heavy metal man . Not deathcore"

You claimed Parkway Drive was not deathcore, and then you proceeded to say that metal and heavy metal are not interchangeable, and I, as thoroughly as possible, explained my position in believing you were wrong. If you want to back up your opinion, please do so, I am not trying to overshadow you here with my "metal knowledge."

I am just saying I have a lot of time and experience in the scene, and the terms you described would be considered inaccurate in the majority of the metal community based on my experience with people, including the scene in Texas. The only reason why I even bothered to explain my position as thoroughly as I did, is because you said I was wrong on not one, but two occasions.

If you didn't want to have this discussion, than maybe you shouldn't have told me I was wrong. I honestly could care less if you don't agree with me, but when you call me out on something I have a great passion for, I am going to explain my position to the best of my ability.

Did you not read my post?

Its fairly obvious you don't comprehend what I was trying to say.

Like I stated I said they were heavy metal. Not deathcore.

I will explain this to you very simply.

Are they metal? Yes.
Are they heavy? Yes.

Are they death? No
Are they core? No

Is there such a thing as a metal band without the heavy? Yes
Is there such a thing as a metal band that is heavy? Yes

What does that give you? A metal band that is heavier then a plain metal band. Ala the heavy metal I originally was referring to.

You I have realized are one of the people that instigate the genre feud on YouTube and what not going back and forth with this and that pointing out pointless facts about the music that make it a certain genre.

Come on dude drop it already you already said deathcore was a sub genre of heavy metal making
BOTH of us right

You can patronize me all you want, but we're not in agreement. I explained why I thought you were incorrect quite thoroughly and I'll leave it at that.

I'll give the good ol' Ric Roll a 7/10 just because I knew the song before it was the famous RicRolled, being a 80's kid in all.

8/10 I'm sure the vocals will grow on me if I gave them a chance. Love the music pieces

Only because I saw them last night and they were fucking amazing:
