dont bother me none, i think its great that UFC is getting the top fighters... UFC is the best, no one can say they're not!

Umm im sure many people would argue that pride is better then the ufc, UFC has done better money wise thats why theyre stronger then ever and pride is pretty much done but pride probably had the better fighters before the merge, and the deffinitly put together better fight cards in the past. It ignorrent for you to say that the ufc is so much better when you clearly have seen much of pride. I love both orgs and cant say that one was better than the other but now the UFC has taken over and well get to see all the fights we wanted.

I believe that what is going to happen is that the orgs will unify under the name UFC in most of the world and PRIDE in asia. All the belts will be unified and fights will take place all over the world, as posters before me have said.

Watch the recent Shogun interview, he's contracted to fight under both UFC and PRIDE. I don't know the specifics about most fighters' contracts but I bet Zuffa is gonna start setting them all up that way.

In a way this makes me happy. I loved PRIDE. I think that all true mma fans did. The talent level and the production values were way ahead of UFC.

What I didn't ever want to see though was a NWO vs. Wolfpack WWE type crap which I was worried Dana McMahon was gonna try to pull on us.

What I think this is all gonna mean is more events, all over the world(called PRIDE in Japan), with the best fighters anywhere all fighting under one banner, with unified rules(eventually including knees to the head of a downed opponent).

It's a tough trade but I think that it's for the best.

With all the top Pride fighters coming to the UFC, I expect that every PPV event be filled exclusively with top 10 fighters and that all other fights be free on TV. That is the only way I think we'll be able to see any given fighter more than once a year.

Knowing the UFC, they just make PPV events more frequent.

As much as I hate to say it, I think Pride is done.

What sucks the most about this is how it went down. At the end of 2005 Pride was by far the most successful organization as far as money goes. They pulled in a 25 in the major ratings battle with K-1 on New Years Eve. That means about 40 million people tuned in to the show in Japan. They were selling out 40,000+ seats. Everything was good, but then it all fell apart. Japan found out a major player in DSE was also a major player in Japan's organized crime. They then got pulled off public TV over there for that reason. 1 year later they sell to Zuffa.

Why in the world would you want PPVs to only feature top 10 talent? How do you expect undercard guys to become featured to the fans? They need to have ppv exposure.

It seriously makes you wonder if the Fertita's are involved in organized crime too.

Seriously, its not like "Casino" anymore, its being clamped down on big style since the events of that film, but there will still be some money skimming going on somewhere, but with their supposed wealth, the Fertittas could have acqquired it legitimately, Casinos didnt become garagantuan money earners by giving money to anyone other than their owners!

pride will probly be another WEC, just for the asian market mainly...more of an org. to weed out all the low level fighters to see who is good enough for ufc.
