I can't get gifs to work for my forum avatar. Even this one I have now is less than 240KB but it's not working. Can anyone give me a hand? I'd rather have a different gif for my av but this one is the smallest I could find and still nothing.

Is it saved as a gif, and are you positive it's under 240 kb? I know I had a few problems getting mine to work, because for some reason my computer saved the file as jpg the first time I saved my gif.

Yeah, it's saved as a gif and the file size is 203kb. It plays fine on my computer, it's just when I upload it here to make it my av.

Is it the Mel Gibson pick that's showing up? Are you uploading it to the correct spot? Have you tried refreshing?

Hmm. Well, the only other things I can think of doing, are deleting your current av when you upload your new one, and making double sure your gif is saved in the proper format, and proper size. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

It's 170x127. I should edit it down to 120x120?
And if so what Adobe program should I use? My first guess is that I can get it done in After Effects?
I've never worked with gifs despite the program I'm taking at school.

I'd drop it down to at least 120x120. That might be your problem. Should be an easy fix, just keep the aspect ratio, and reduce the canvas size. I just use a free program I downloaded from CNET. I have also had luck with ulead that I "borrowed" from the internet. Any program should work though.
