UFC president Dana White is not a man who lives with regret.

Through more than a decade of building and cultivating the UFC, White has remained the figurehead and leader of the business that has seen mixed martial arts hit new heights never before imagined when the sport first landed on television screens in 1993.

White has had his fair share of tumultuous relationships over the years: very public feuds with employees like Tito Ortiz and B.J. Penn, a longstanding pursuit of former Pride champion Fedor Emelianenko and the inside dealings with his management team, and even bridges burnt and rebuilt with promotions and several promoters.

When asked, however, if he had any regrets through his time spent with the UFC, White could only point to one time where he made a major mistake and it still haunts him to this day...

Yep, that is the only instance in the last 12 years where Dana has used poor judgement....

Why would he regret telling mma fans they are dolts who don't understand the sport?

Who wants to see Anderson Silva fight Nick Diaz? That's just absurd. Now get ready to see Andy battle the unstoppable force that is Stephen Bonner.

Isn't Nick Diaz on some sort of suspension?

He is but the point is Dana immediately wrote it off as an absurd fight no one would want to watch roughly a month before promoting Silva v Bonnar.

This is Dana White explaining why Diaz vs Silva makes no sense:
"I know that sounds fun -- 'Yeah! throw Nick Diaz in there!' -- if you really look at the the thing, Nick Diaz just lost to [Carlos] Condit, at 170, so that gives him the opportunity to move up to [1]85 and fight the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world?," White asked. "In what [expletive] universe does that make sense?"

Roughly a month after saying this he announced Bonnar v Silva.

Don't have your MW champ and P4P great move down in weight to fight a non-title holder. It makes perfect sense to me and is business 101. Bonnar/Silva may not make perfect sense, but then again, it wasn't planned out from the beginning either.

that tirade was a little over the top even for mr. white. i think his biggest mistake was the "homophobic" slur or whatever you wanna call it. people gotta watch what they say about shit like that these days.

He seemed to be saying that he is sorry about how his tirade may have affected the gay and lesbian community, not Lorretta Hunt. Or am I reading that wrong?

I would not have guessed that that particular tirade was his only regret.

That's how I took it.

Just an apology to the gay community.

Always has and always be a tool.

Oh well I've learned to deal

The funny thing is he's apologizing that he offended people, not the word's he chose to offend ms. Hunt.

Bonnar Silva is to save a card though right? Diaz Silva wouldn't be possible to save the card. I think If ppl started to tweet that they wanted this fight Dana would have laughed at it as well. But being that he is backed into a corner and needed the fight he made it happen to save the card. Zuffa doesn't need to lose 3 cards in 3 months.
