A light-heavyweight bout between ex-champs Lyoto Machida (18-3 MMA, 10-3 UFC) and Dan Henderson (29-8 MMA, 6-2 UFC) is still in the works, UFC President Dana White today said.

"We're still working it all out," said White, who did not give a timetable for the proposed fight.

The matchup is widely expected to have title implications. But according to White, it's become suddenly difficult to find a title contender for current champ Jon Jones, who recently notched his fourth straight title defense...

i`m also scratching my head at Machida-GSP... I`m a big Dragon fan but he isn`t worthy of jumping in the cage with Rush (yet). I mean.. the dude lost to Rampage!!

But Hendo-Dragon is a fight I`d pay for extremely intriguing & definitely exciting

neither fight interests me. Maybe once I can see GSP healthy and back to his dominant ways then ok, but not now.

Hendo also lost to Rampage. I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean though. I mean, I understand that he looked like shit against Bader and he's probably nearing the end of his career now, but I don't think that disqualifies everything he's done in the sport. Not to mention, it was close enough fight that many people thought it went the other way...and fightmetric considered it a draw.

I think Machida has done more then enough to deserve a fight with GSP at 185. I seriously am over UFC titles I just want awesome fights. I love that Vitor got a crack at Jon Jones. I'm intrested in cool fights with the best fighters fighting.

Although it would be a good fight, this makes no sense to me unless Jones is out for 6+ months. If he can fight before then, Hendo vs Jones is the fight to make. Why risk a losing one of the few remaining #1 contenders that jones hasn't fought. Plus Hendo and Jones have unfinished business that could sell the fight. Hendo vs Dragon can take place late 2013. Sometimes I get the feeling Dana dislikes Hendo.

I dont really feel thats true. They have always had a joking, give ribs and jabs type of relationship it seems and bust each others balls when they can.

Agreed. Bad style match up for him. One of the worst styles he could go against imo.

the dude lost to Rampage!!

Officially speaking, yes, he did. But not in the real world.

I think Machida would beat Hendo by a decisive UD.

Hendo should have drawn with prime rampage and machida definitely won that fight.

im in the same boat. i think machida is a bad matchup for hendo. hendo does well in wars but i think he could really have problems with machida's elusiveness. id probably still pick hendo though, he's one of those fighters that make it very hard to bet against.

I feel like other then the Bisping fight everyone always thinks ____________ is a bad match up for Dan. Well maybe not Jake Shields and we know how that went. That being said I think Machida is a bad style match up for Hendo
