“The Jon Jones piece of meat (expletive) thing. When I see him in (expletive) Toronto, that’s the first (expletive) thing we’re going to talk about. Piece of meat? Give me a (expletive) break. That sounds like something a male supermodel would say: I feel like a piece of meat out here (White said in a mocking voice)."
(It's all a transcript of his interview. Worth a read, if for no other reason but to play the 'which swear word belongs in which expletives place' game)

I think like Dana's comments here seem to validate Jones' claims, rather than make Jones look silly for claiming to feel "like a piece of meat"

if you called you boss that in the media, how do you think he would react? Professional athletes have it so easy

It was perfect.... they blame Jones for the whole card knowing he cant handle the storm thats about to come his way.... The ufc totally avoids blame for screwing the fighters over because the buyrate will only make them a couple million dollars....

In the meantime the UFC make Jones one of the biggest villains and draws in the sport for their next ppv fill in......

To be fair, the boss called him out first, and went on a pretty vicious tirade/conference call, despite the fact that he put together a card that couldn't stand on its own without Jones. If Dana didn't want to be called out, he probably shouldn't have started it.

I understand SOME of the anger at Jones, but it's really ridiculous for Dana to act like it's all Jones' fault, and give absolutely no flak to Henderson, who according to Dana, knew about the injury like a month before he pulled out of the fight, no flak to any of the other fighters who turned down the fight with Jones, and takes absolutely none of the responsibility for putting together a card that fell apart when 1 fight got cancelled.

IMO Dana is more to blame than anyone, by a long shot. Fighters get injured, he should have a backup plan that involves something other than assuming that no one will ever turn down a fight on 6 day's notice and throwing a tantrum when they do. Generally I like Dana, but sometimes he's an emotional little child, and I believe this is one of those times.

I pretty much agree with most of what he said here.

He said that Jones seemed like he was okay with the fight at first, but that Greg Jackson talked him out of it. Seems plausible.

He said that Greg Jackson is a business man first and most of the family bs is just self protection. I agree. I used to like Jackson but man he screwed over Diego and Rashad. Those guys were with him from the beginning. If anyone was family it was them.

There is one thing I disagree with. How can he get all bent out of shape about Jones calling him out in the media?? He ran a negative campaign against Jon Jones that would have done any politician proud. Pot calling the kettle black.

UFC pres is no real boss to anyone, they are manager and promoter.

Jones is a product they created but a self sustaining asset no less. In other words, they would be losing something losing him where most jobs can fill the slot very easilly and each man brings far less to the table.
