Undefeated Strikeforce heavyweight and former Oklahoma State University wrestler Daniel Cormier (10-0 MMA, 7-0 SF) will enjoy a bit of home-field advantage against UFC import Frank Mir (16-6 MMA, 14-6 UFC).

USA TODAY Sports has learned from sources close to the event that Cormier and Mir's three-round crossover bout will headline a Nov. 3 Strikeforce card at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City.

The evening's main card airs on Showtime (10 p.m. ET/PT) following prelims on Showtime Extreme (8 p.m.).

I don't believe the 'home' advantage has much of a sway on how the fight works out. UFC Rio for example

Paulo Thiago > David Mitchell

Thiago Tavares > Spencer Fisher

Antonio Nogueira > Brendan Schaub

Edson Barboza > Ross Pearson

Stanislav Nedkov > Luiz Cane

In all these fights, apart from the last one, in which they didn't count on Nedkov being awesome- they seem to be pitting the top echelon of Brazilian fighter VS the middle-lower tier non-brazilian fighters. So it might seem like a home field advantage, but its probably more like the UFC want the home crowd to enjoy it more, so they put on fights in which the "home" fighters can probably win.

Yes, fighters are traveling to a different country and maybe having to deal with time zone changes, while the brazilian fighters are used to it.

Mir and Daniel are both in the US. How is DC fighting in the state where he wrestled in college any advantage? Is the cage going to be any different to give DC an advantage? No.
