Alistair Overeem, the former Strikeforce and K-1 champion who's been suspended since failing a pre-fight urine test that forced him out of UFC 146, says he won't wait for a title shot when he returns to the UFC.

The Dutch fighter is busy serving a 9-month suspension courtesy of the Nevada State Athletic Commission until December 29, 2012. His manager Glenn Robinson of Authentic Sports Management was on MMA Weekly Radio and shared some info about Overeem's return including the fact that Overeem has been in Florida training at the Blackzillians camp as if he had a fight scheduled..

I just want to see him fight again already! Cormier vs The Reem would be freaking awesome.

Good....but a question for the PG: Did he really earn/deserve one?

if you look at the way they have given title shots in another division then yes, plus he has the K-1 GP n strikeforce belt so that helps. I'm just ready to see him fight

Why do I not believe this?

I feel like all I've heard from him is about a title shot and JDS.

I also don't know if he should be given a title shot after he returns after all the crap he pulled.

This isn't like he's coming off an injury that forced him out of the title fight ala Hendo.

Overeem vs. Werdum 3...the second one was a lot closer than the first...and it would deffinetly decide the true #1 contender after dos santos/velaszquez

in his last 4 fights, he retired a top 5 HW in Lesnar, beat a top 10 in Werdum (debatable win in some eyes), beat a top 10 HW in Rogers (according to some sites), and beat Duffee.

That's better than what any other HW has done recently that isn't scheduled to fight for the title. His next fight will be against another top 10 HW, and if he wins that you cannot deny him a title shot

Those last 4 don't strike me as anything special.

Duffee and Rogers were nothing much. Werdum fight wasn't much of a fight. And Lesnar was had already quit before he fought Lesnar.

But I agree that there really isn't anyone else at the moment unless you just throw someone in there. It seems the same situation for LHW and MW.

What I said might have been confusing. I meant, like when he returns from his suspension he shouldn't get a title shot right away. He should at least have to have a fight and win before a shot.

I could give two sh*ts what Overrated says or thinks. Personally I wish he would find a new vocation.

Oh...right...cuz he didnt just get up one day and win the biggest kickboxing tournament in the world with little to no experience, while at the same time riding a pretty good win streak with about 90% being finished in the 1st round..., not to mention hes been fighting A to B level competion since he started his career

...na hes totally ovverated
