UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones recently said that he didn't feel like a rematch with Lyoto Machida was in his best interest. Jones cited a lack of pay-per-view revenue as the reason.
Well, after seeing the backlash on Twitter revolving around his words, Jones decided to try and explain himself.
"This is a game that I love but its also a JOB," Jones wrote. "Some people just don't understand business and I'm not saying sorry that I do."
"I get punched one good time in a fight and people think I'm scared to rematch," Jones wrote, "haha I just can't win with some of you people.. funny."

What's his answer to the other three or four shots Machida tagged him with? I don't see him beating Jones but I thought he at least gave Bones a fight.

Jones is missing the fact that no matter who he fights next it will be a rematch and Machida will bring in the most $$ this time around.
Machida Shogun Bader Rampage Evans
Out of all of those, Machida is the only one to win a round against Jones and he will be the biggest draw in a rematch for that simple reason.

Well said, also because no one else has even put a scratch on Bones. Have a look...

This didn't clarify anything. Saying "business" doesn't do anything. It still makes you sound greedy.
I'm not saying he's scared to rematch, but his words made it seem like he doesn't want to risk losing by facing a tricky Machida.

No matter how he spins his comments, he shouldn't even have been talking about his next fight until the post fight press conference for UFC 151. Just my opinion.

I never said he was scared, the dudes a beast and shouldn't be scared of anyone outside of the HW division, I was saying he's the employee not the boss so he will fight who they tell him too.
To clarify, concern and scare are different outlooks and he should be concerned about Hendo but not scared
The H-Bomb on the other hand, scared is what I'd be

Agreed. Words or statements may be misinterpreted in an interview, but the statements Jones has placed on Twitter leaves no chance of misinterpretation.

Gee whiz, wish I wasn't so stupid so I could also understand it's about money. I thought that was pretty clear the first time, but apparently he had to add fuel to the fire with another comment that won't go over well.
I'm not sure he'll ever be a real likable fighter, but maybe he could play up the bad guy. Not everyone has to love you to make money, just ask Floyd Mayweather.

Between his two statements this is what I've heard:
1. "Machida is a very dangerous fight for me, he put up a really good fight last time. I'd rather not fight someone who could beat me. Also, I REALLY REALLY like money."
2. "All you MMA fans are dumb and don't understand business. I make this as a general statement. I don't care if there are MMA fans with MBAs or who run fortune 500 companies....no body understands business like me."
My conclusions:
1. I won't claim that Jones is scared of anyone. Obviously he already beat Machida once. But clearly Machida makes him very nervous.
2. Jon Jones is a very unlikable person and the best thing for everyone would be a huge H-Bomb from Hendo.
BTW....I don't know what Jon Jones is talking about with Machida not being a draw. Not many people bought the first fight because at that time Jones was looking like a world beater and Machida hadn't done all that much to earn his shot (at the very least he wasn't looking nearly as impressive as Jones.)
Now, for the second fight, people will be much more excited. Machida was the first person to land solidly on Jones and the first person to arguably win around against him. Him saying he doesn't want to fight him will just add that much more anticipation.

this does nothing to clarify his previous statements, instead he is just hating on the fans. he could have just said i want more money not fans just don't understand business.
