Having never fractured my sternum or had the potential to get punched, elbowed, or kneed on a broken bone directly in front of my heart, I will get on my high horse and boo that man!

If the injury is legit well that sucks for him. I think to make the situation better he should have made it public before the fight and not afterwards about his sternum injury. I like Lombard as a fighter and his highlight reels are amazing to say the least. But that performance was more like he had a brain injury. I'm not a fan of him outside of the octagon for some of his D-bag moves he's pulled. One for example he was training in a grappling session with a training partner (non-striking at that) and apparently his partner was getting the best of him. So he punched him. I can't recall the training partners name off hand but the info was from this site. I respect a fighter when they lose to just man up and say "My opponent was better than me today", or request a rematch. I don't think I'd want to watch that rematch though if you know what I mean.

This is a touchy issue.
Obviously fighters get injured all the time and many of them fight injured as well. That doesn't mean they have to talk about it.
This may be completely legitimate and factual....but it still looks like he's making excuses from a fans point of view.
Bottom line:
If you're so badly injured that it's going to affect your performance, don't fight.
If you choose to fight injured, just shut up about it.

that could be worse than what he just did. Most people would say he is already making an excuse for a potential loss and make Tito comparisons. It's a lose-lose-lose for Lombard. He either looks like an excuse maker before or after the fight or couldn't handle the big stage if he kept his mouth shut.
