Not long after Phil Davis (9-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) and Wagner Prado (7-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) had their light heavyweight fight stopped with a no contest, the UFC already was thinking about when to do the rematch.
An accidental eye poke at Saturday's UFC on FOX 4 led to a no contest when Prado told a cageside doctor he was having trouble seeing. After the event, UFC President Dana White said the promotion is targeting October's UFC on FX 5 card for the rematch.
At the post-event news conference, UFC President Dana White said he and matchmaker Joe Silva already had talked about where the rematch was likely to wind up.
"Me and Joe were talking, and maybe we put them on (UFC on FX 5) in Minneapolis," White said. "Provided his eye's OK and he doesn't have any problems, we'll move them to that card."

i didn't ever see him telling the doctor he couldn't see, to me he pointed to his eye and held two fingers up implying ''give me two minutes'', that's what i thought anyway. the doctor just said ''he can't see'' and ended it. Wether he couldn't see or not is not sure but from wagner prado's reaction after the fight, he doesn't seem like a guy to admit that he was seeing double.

Prado's boxing was looking good. Davis looked bewildered for some reason.

Machida also didn't look good in the first minute of his fight last night either.

There is one simple solution to the eye poke issues. The referees need to warn fighters when they are flailing and jabbing their outstretched fingers near the faces of the other fighter. If one or two warnings doesn't work then it is time to take some points away. That fight was a little different though as it happened on an early exchange. Some fighters like Davis and Koscheck are prone to poking people's eyes as they are constantly pawing their outstretched fingers near the other fighter's faces. The refs could solve this quick. I am glad to see these two are getting another chance to fight though. I hope Prado takes care of business.
