Mir is making a serious mistake by taking this fight in my opinion.
Its a terrible match up for him. I smell Cormier beating his ass
'
Definitely a dangerous fight for him to take, but it's refreshing to see a guy willing to get in their with a guy like Cormier instead of pulling the oh so present, "He's not a good match up for me at this point in my career" excuse that we've seen so much recently. There are a few guys that are incredibly loyal to their organization and Mir is one of them. I hope he can avoid getting taken out early. I personally hope he can win, but I can't see him getting DC down at all, and I really can't see him avoiding the big right for 15 minutes. His best option seems to be for Cormier to get over zealous and follow him to the ground if he gets rocked. Can't see DC taking him there voluntarily.

I like that Mir is willing to move over to Strikeforce and fight a guy who's style he has a hard time with. That's a boss move in my opinion, shows he's not scared

I didn't expect to see this when I logged on here. This is great news though. If Cormier can finish Mir, he's going to be sent right to the front of the line in the UFC when he finally gets there.

I see Cormier winning a DEC, or Mir taking an arm.

This should be an awesome fight.
I think Mir has a a technical advantage standing and on the ground but Cormier has a power and strength advantage.
Mir could win an outside kickboxing match or he could win by sub from the bottom. Cormier could win by landing power shots on the feet or from the top.
I'll be anxious to see what happens.
WAR MIR!!!

I think its clear he isnt scared at this point in his career of anybody. That being said, does show a lot of character hes doing a favour for Zuffa here IMO. Even though he'll probably only last slightly longer than Silva did

Mir gets the (assumed) upset victory via Kimura. Man I've been going on about Vera beating Shogun too, so nobody listen to me, I'm obviously going all nostalgic and picking with my heart
You'll get bragging rights about your predictions if you turn out to be right though.

the only thing that worries me about this matchup is mir just can't take a punch. mir can keep a distance with his kicks but if stays standing he will eventually get caught and i see cormier finishing. his best chance is to get it to the ground however possible. if its hits the mat i see mir subbing him. cormier is not the physical specimen that lesnar nor carwin is so he will not just be able to power mir. i don't see why ppl are saying strong wrestler are bad for mir its really huge wrestlers that are bad & huge means 260+. mir has a chance but this could look like a repeat of mir/JDS but faster because cormier has to come into range. Im pulling for mir & and hoping he can test cormier's chin (i have yet to see it be really tested) and see if cormier can handle going to the ground with a guy as good as mir at submissions.
