There are a lot of guys like that. I like the true journeymen though like Bisping, Hamil, Serra, Sakurai, etc the guys who can beat everyone not a top name.

Idk about those guys.
I think the thread is more about guys with padded records, who have been exposed.
Serra doesn't fit that, he's fought mostly only some of the top or notable names, not many cans and his record isn't padded. 11-7

Travis Fulton is a bit of a can crusher. As much as I respect the guy, it's hard to argue with it.

Travis Fulton has to absolutely be the #1 can recycler! I know for a fact he knocked out the same dude 6-8 times, and there are multiple people he has knocked out or otherwise beat 2-4 times. And he has virtually no wins over top competition. He might have beat Dan Severn one of the twelve times they fought... /hyperbole
And don't start asking for my head, just throwing this out there...I think we may soon find Rousimar Palhares on the can crusher/gate keeper list. Look at the record, not much impresses.... a victory over a Jeremy Horn who probably had 100 fights logged already, Ivan Salaverry who was on his way out, Dan Miller who himself has never beaten top competition... meanwhile his losses come from guys who are top ranked.

got ya. Fulton was a good call too.
Bisping could maybe fit it, faced some tough guys though. But got exposed by Hendo or maybe not exposed at much as KO'ed
Maybe a Cody McKenzie, though Idk the level of competition he was facing before the UFC.
I think a guy has to have a kind of high number of fights, like Jason with 18, but Joey only had 9, that's not much.
Lombard, could be on the list if he gets exposed by Boetsch, b/c he know Lombard has been facing cans.

Top ranked lightweight who has never faced a top ranked lightweight.
just checked fight matrix and found RICK HAWN (14-1) ranked 9th is that who you mean??
EDIT: i just realized your post was also a link to GILBERT MELENDEZ and i disagree with you, Gilbert has many wins over top quality opponents and definitely dose not class as a can crusher

This is a hard topic because you get so close to sounding like you're fighter bashing. If I could pick one fighter that hasn't been mentioned though, even though I would far from call hims a "can Recycler" I may have to say Jeremy Horn. The guy has always had great skills but just always came up short of reaching that top status I think a lot of us always thought he would. No disrespect to him in any way just my opinion. Horn certainly fought guys at his level and above but it seemed like for the most part he lost a wide majority to the upper tier competition he faced. Still, most guys trying to make it would kill for a record like his.
