Weidman can take this fight on the feet or the mat. Bad matchup for Vitor, I have no clue what some of you are smoking.

On the feet?? I'm all ears.

So am I.

I actually thought this should be the next fight for Chris because Vitor's hand should be healed and it let's Chris stay active. Also it's the first time we see Chris against a Striker with good TDD, up to this point it's been a washed-up striker and grapplers. When he put's a nasty beatdown on Belfort that would make Anderson blush, maybe then haters will begin to realize who's the number one contender.

For Vitor to win this fight he will need to keep it standing. I personally dont think he will be able to do that, I think Weidman will get him down rather easily and either sub or tko him.

I'm pulling for Vitor but I dont think his skill set matches up well with Weidman

Haters? Pretty much everything I've seen has been people saying he should fight Anderson next. I haven't heard anyone say a bad thing about the guy

After Weidman's performance against Munoz, its gonna take someone dominating to come in there and take away the momentum Weidman has right now. I doubt Vitor Belfort can do it. Give Belfort to Belcher or Stann.

Bisping vs Sonnen 2 - Make it happen Dana !!!!!

I agree with all of you who wanna see this fight. I also agree with whoever said they didn't want to see Vitor demolish a top prospect. I'm torn here.

This matchup makes sense to me. Weidman took a big leap forward in the standings with such a convincing victory over Munoz. He could easily be considered the number one contender, but I think one more bout against top competition is necessary.

Vitor, on the other hand, is not deserving of a title shot at this time. Having recently lost to the champ in devastating fashion, Belfort needs a few more wins over top competition to earn a title shot. I am not convinced Belfort deserved the first title shot. Belfort's biggest accomplishments: W. Silva in 98, Couture in 04 (fluke cut), Franklin in 09 He is a great fighter, but if this match happens, it should not be considered a #1 contender match.

Weidman is the quickly rising contender and Belfort is the able Veteran. A win over a big name, able veteran like Belfort will aid in legitimizing Weidman's claim to the title shot. A win over the quickly rising contender will only show Weidman wasn't quite ready for a title shot.

I think Weidman takes Belfort down easily and wins this fight 9 times out of 10. Weidman's great at timing when someone's coming in and putting them on the mat. If it's a 3 round fight Weidman UD, if it's a 5 round I think Weidman can do enough gnp to get a TKO!!! I'd rather see Weidman fight Silva, but if they want to wait, make this fight happen or have Weidman fight Lombard if he wins!!!

If Vitor loses, imo it won't be by sub. We forget that he's a Gracie Blackbelt because his standup is so good. Not saying it won't happen but I feel its unlikely

Prophecy033- I wasn't talking about this forum moreless I have seen on other forums, that a lot of people think Weidman isn't ready.
