"I came home and I watched it, and I was kind of like you know, if I was sitting here, watching this on the couch, I probably would have been talking smack about myself," he said on SiriusXM's Tapout Radio show.

"I always say accountability is a huge part of the sport, and you are accountable for your actions," he said. "I feel like I was just a little slow on the trigger [Wednesday]. I don't want to see guys take unnecessary punishment. It's a rough sport. Everyone knows what they sign in for, but it's a millisecond-basis game. You're making choices right there on the spot, and in the heat of the moment, I felt like I was seeing some stuff. In hindsight, I have to step my game up and make sure I'm on point for the next guys."

Hopefully he's not trigger happy his next fight, and stops it early. I like Josh as a ref, and think he just messed up this time. I like the fact he tried to give Munoz some time to recover in the main event, but he let it go way to long.

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in the playground is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no props, and may the mods have mercy on your soul.

I give Josh all the credit in the world. The stoppage was horrible, but an official that recognizes and admits mistakes is hard to come by.

Better late then early I say.*

If the ref jumped in immediately after the elbow then without a doubt every Munoz fan & sceptic would be blowing up the internet saying the stoppage was unjust, early & bashing Rosenthal & Weidman & Dana & Winslow. Gimme a break!!
Plus every UFC fan enjoys a good blood puddle!!

*( also my work-place motto )

I like that.
Josh is a good ref. He didn't make excuses. Good for him.

Although it doesn't change what happened, he was man enough to admit his mistake and that earned my respect

While it was a late stoppage I don't think it was "horrible". Like Josh says....it is about "milliseconds" and he let it go a millisecond too long. On the other side of the coin I think Yves Lavigne stopped the Silva/Sonnen fight too early. These guys aren't perfect...sometimes they stop a fight too early and sometimes too late. It only takes a split second to pound someone in the head a few times. If you are a millisecond late...a fighter could get really hurt and people will criticize you. You have to be "on point". Tough vocation.

IIRC Winslow admitted to her mistake, why was no one commending her on that?

Props to him for no excuse making and manning up! Although this was awful, he is a good ref IMO.

Which one? Seems like she makes a mistake every card. And no I'm not being sexist. Man or woman she sucks as a ref. so do Mario and Mazigatti.

let's just remember all the props this guy got for letting lesnar and carwin go. i think he is a good ref who made a mistake i literally can't think of any other time we have mentioned what a bad job he has done. if it was winslow or mazzagatti i too would be all over them because they suck but not rosenthal
