4-1 in the UFC, yet they keep throwing him less opponents each time out.
What's up with that, and why won't they give him a step up in competition?

My guess after his performance last night, is he will get a small step up in competition. He looked real good. I like that he's getting an opportunity to work on his game, rather than being thrown to the wolves.

I agree. I think the fact that he was a SUPER small Bantamweight fighting bigger guys is also a factor as to why he has been getting "easier" fights. Even in his Flyweight debut last night, Josh Ferguson looked like he was larger than Kamikaze in physical stature. Cariaso managed the fight well though, and his next fight should be against a bigger name.

W over Rafael Rebello
L to Renan Barao
W over Will Campuzano

W over Vaughn Lee
W over Takeya Mizugaki

That makes sense to me tbh. He was given Ferguson as sort of a warm up fight for 125 imo. You don't want to go in there facing the top of the division your first time out there.

I agree with you guys Ko and P$. Cariaso is mad talented and flyweight division is where he belongs. His only lose in the UFC was to Mayday by split decision and Mayday is a beast. Prior to Cariaso entering the UFC he fought Barao(WEC) and got tapped out in the 1st round. So you can say he has battled with some of the wolves.
Sometimes good fighters that are talented get cut because have a 0-2 record for example and could still beat a lot of the guys in the division. This isnt the case with Cariaso as he is 4-1 in the UFC. Look at Carlos Rocha for example. He gets cut for losing 2 decisions to Ellenberger and Pierce. Undeserving cut IMO.
I think they are building Cariaso up nicely and could be very close to the top of the thin flyweight division in the very near future IMO.

Well, that was just his first fight at 125, not many guys down there to fight right now. So, it kind of made sense to have him fight Josh and try to build up that division.

Only 11 current Fly's including Chris.
Maybe a fight against Louis or Uyenoyama, looks like he is dropping down after his win over Kid Yama, don't know if he has an opponent lined up.
Been pretty impressed by Chris, winning despite the size disadvantage he usually has at being 5'3".

All valid points, guys. My dumb ass forgot to take into account it was his flyweight debut, and the shallow division. He's beyond solid, and I think he'll do really well at 125.
