It was an upset because tell the truth did anyone expect RAmpage to KO chuck on the fight with one punch in the first round.

if your a fighter of chucks caliber and cant take being ko then it might be time to reevalute what your doing. rampage has had his ass handed to him a few times and hes bounced back. chuck should have no issues with the ko.

Of course it will affect him mentally. The fact that he was on such a role and finally got stopped is going to be big roadblock for Chuck to overcome mentally, and more imporantly, inside the cage. I'd love to see Chuck be champ again, but I think his fights with some of the lower guys who have been really impressive as of late(Rashad Evans, Michael Bisping, etc)will be a good indicator if Liddell has enough left in the tank to get back to the top.
Do I see Chuck Liddell being champion again? Possibly. Does he deserve a 3rd match against Rampage Jackson now that he is 0-2? Not at all. Chuck is gonna have to be at his best if he wants a shot at Jackson again, or even another shot at the belt.

unfortunately chuck is no randy couture and i see him approaching the end of his carrier. he's 38 years old and i see him havening maybe 4 more fights before he retires. i'm hoping he fights some top competition in that time. Maybe he'll be the champ again but he definitely shouldn't fight rampage again right away.

now that i think about my earlier post i think if Randy gets past Gonzaga chuck might move up to Heavy like he always said he would and challenge randy for his title.

Interesting, his career would definately be prolonged if he bulked up and went to the slower HW class. I've always heard talk of him wanting to fight Cro Cop too. You may have stumbled onto something there.

Not at all, he would have a puncher's chance at max. But some people on another topic were saying that Liddell would beat Fedor if they fought.
Yeah, right.

Yeah, right.
it's not entirely false saying chuck could beat fedor, I mean hell look at lindland one punch and fedor was bleeding like a stuck pig that would have been a bitch of an upset.
I think people are greatly underestimating fedor's standup, and greatly overexaggeratting chuck's stand up.

Of course Chuck is gonna be rocked by his loss, he was suprememly confident, he tried to write off his first loss to Rampage as his own fighting immaturity, and genuinely believed that he had grown into some unstoppable Juggernaut. He will always be a good B class at LHW, but with top competition lining up at LHW these days (Hendo, Wanderlei, Shogun and of course Rampage) I dont think he will be champ again, or if he does get another shot and lucks a victory, he wont hold the belt for long.

yeah but also take note that the first ufc fight of rampage he wasn't a sure bet to beat the ice man and 3 years before this fight chuckalready exuded a confidence that he can beat rampage and has learned from that experience.. :( i felt really saddened he got beat up like that.. i never would have liked mma if strikers cannot dominate.. and chucked proved that you can.. oh well props to rampage and hope for graeter fights than this

Getting KO'ed can obviously affects anyone.. The worse the KO the more impact it has on a guy. I dont think this KO was enough to bust his "Bubble" or even make him gun-shy.. It was enough to wake him up and get him back on top of his game imo..
