I'm pumped Quinton won, but Chuck deserves huge props. He went on a hell of a tear, brought new fans to the sport, and STILL tried to get up even after eating that monster right. He just had no answer for Rampage and the better man won. Best of luck to both fighters and here's to strong showings on their next bouts.

Yeah, he had a good run as champ, and I'm sure he'll knock a few more people out before calling it a day.
As for the fight itself and "not having an answer", I'd disagree in that the fight was too short. Rampage landed the only meaningful shot in the whole fight, so neither guy had a chance to really show their stuff.

Yes, Chuck has been a great champ who propelled mma's popularity with his knockouts. He will certainly be in the Hall of Fame soon.

Page was the man tonight but i want to see the rematch, and either way page looked great. what a great fight, what a great night. congrats rampage, i want to see the rematch, but hendo will be a great champion if he gets the title shot. the world is officially turned upside down.

^ Dana and Chuck are very close. If he starts screaming about quick stopage and gets a solid win, I could see them doing it again.
Esp if Tito beats Rashad, since Jardine just lost

yes, but Tito and Dana were also "very close" and look where that ended....
it sucks that people are going to bitch about the fight ending early, but us true fans know chuck was beaten.

hendo vs page will be great, but chuck lost once in 4 years so lets face it he deserves a shot at whoever wins the hendo/page fight................i cant believe what happened, but we all knew page was dangerous.......well played rampage

That is a pretty arrogant statement. Arrogant and incorrect.
The bottom line is the fight was stopped earlier than it should have been. That is not to say it would've made a difference, but when it comes to fighters at this level, they deserve the benefit of the the doubt when it comes to 'early stoppage controversies'.
I am completely neutral when it comes to the outcome of this fight. That being said I don't like to any fight end with controversy, especially a title fight. If that sentiment does not make me a 'true fan' in your eyes, maybe you need to rethink your definition of a true fan.

I actually agree it was stopped earlier than it should have been but I believe it was stopped early the way the Tito vs Ken II fight was stopped early. Even if it had been let go for a few more seconds I don't see Liddell recovering from all that damage while still being pounded out.

It was weird, he was gone after the punch, recovered, got hit agen and was gone, but if you watch just as the ref was coming down, he was just starting to defend again.... still, rampage was in a dominant position so i think it would of been stopped either way. Props to the ice man though, hes been a good champ and always has exiting fights. I just hope he comes back stronger and keeps Knocking people out.

I'd be willing to bet that hendo beats rampage, rua takes #1 contender and then liddell and rampage rematch for top contender to the winner of that fight. Whatever happens I'm sure they'll fight again.
