Win or lose Saturday night at UFC 148 versus Tito Ortiz, Forrest Griffin is Stephan Bonnar's next opponent if "The American Psycho" gets his wish of a trilogy fight with the former UFC light-heavyweight champion.

The Las Vegas-based Bonnar understands UFC president Dana White recently shot down a recent Twitter campaign to have "The Ultimate Fighter 1" finalists coach prospective UFC fighters on the upcoming 16th season.

Still, the 35-year-old wants to meet again the man he battled for 15 minutes in April 2005. The instant classic earned the "greatest fight in UFC history" tag because – as White often points out – it's the most important. Those three rounds became the Bonnar-Griffin Boom, which ushered in the UFC's defining six years on Spike TV and pay-per-view leading to the octagon's arrival on FOX in November.

I don't see it happening. Forrest is up 2-0 on him, now if it was 1-1 i could see it happening but as it stands, no dice Mr. Bonnar

Bonnar clearly WON the first fight....make it happen after Forrest loses to Tito.

I disagree I think Forrest won both times they fought each other. Although I will say the first fight was a lot closer then the second was.

Ill watch them fight again we all know it will be a good scrap, I say make it a main event on some sort of Fox card

Those were entertaining fights though man. So was the first Griffin/Bonnar. OK the second sucked, but is either near a title shot or anything else of consequence? I say let them do it. They did for Wandy and Rampage, and that was an awesome KO. Maybe this one goes that way too.

I'd take Bonnar in the third.

there was so much beef and hype from the first 2 Silva/Jackson fights that a 3rd is what people wanted, even in Silva's rundown state.

Stout/Fisher was 1-1 so a 3rd was semi needed, even after 5 years.

I guess for a fun fight and all

I am usually against a 3rd fight when one person is up 2-0, BUT Id make an exception for these guys. Id watch them fight weekly if I could. I say best of 100 lol

I think Stephan is having a bit of a resurgence late in his career, whereas I think Forrest is maybe a little on the downswing. I thought Bonnar and Griffin would be ideal as coaches for the next TUF season...so surprised it was shot down so quickly. Would love to see a third bout.
