Injuries have derailed some of the summer’s biggest fights, but there are still plenty of match-ups to talk about including the debut of a former Bellator champion and the return of a former UFC title holder.
Former Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard will make his long awaited Octagon debut at UFC 149 where he faces former light heavyweight Tim Boetsch in a 185lb showdown.
According to Nick Kalikas from BetOnFighting.com, Lombard’s reputation as a knockout artist will follow him to the UFC where he has opened as a sizeable favorite over UFC veteran Boetsch.
Lombard comes in as a whopping -310 favorite with the comeback on Boetsch at +240
Rua opens as an expected favorite in the fight with -290 odds in his favor while Vera comes back at the underdog with +220 odds on his side.

I've been having this feeling that Vera is gonna wreck Shogun. I may not put money on that, and I'll probably still pick Shogun, but I feel the upset is there.
Same with Boetsch. I like his chances to upset Lombard.

I have a feeling that Boetsch is gonna surprise some people in this fight. I always undervalue him because he underwelms but his comeback over Okami is what conviinced me to never count this dude out.

I think the Vera odds are just about right considering consistency. Otherwise its a good bet.
Boetsch is a very good bet at +240

Vera matches up pretty well with Shogun and although Vera hasn't lived up to his early hype I don't really see the decline in talent and that means the potential is their for a motivated and written off Vera to pull off a huge upset. I'm the biggest Shogun nuthugger around but Shogun is not Shogun anymore. Still a great fighter but not anywhere near the guy that fought Machida the first time, more like the Fedor that had to rely on the bomb at the end of his career.

I believe Shogun would be even more of a world beater if he threw some damn leg kicks. Machida's probably the only guy in the division he couldnt chop down with leg kicks. All he does is throw looping punches.

Shogun is gonna walk through Vera's lhw drained body. Early knockout standing for Shogun if I had to pick.
Boetsch will ragdoll Lombard.

i'll propose that av bet the day it's available if your confidence is still there when the fight comes.

Yes, the line should be much more even, imo.

Totally agree.
I'm struggling to see why Boetsch is being perceived as the underdog to be honest.
I will be betting on him and picking him.
