Carlos Eduardo "Ta Danado" Rocha entered the UFC undefeated in late 2010, and keep his streak going with a knee bar over TUF 11 runner-up Kris McCray. In early 2011 Rocha lost a split decision to Jake Ellenberger and recently lost via unanimous decision to Mike Pierce.

“I went there to fight MMA and he wants to win by points. There were 15 minutes of pure mooring. This is bullshit”, complains on an interview with TATAME. “And UFC fires me after a fight where the guy just stood there mooring. I had good performances and even so I was cut off. I didn’t expect this”.

“...I thought he could come for me but he didn’t. He didn’t attack me on the clinch, he didn’t hit me nor let me hit him”, criticizes Carlos. “That’s not MMA”.

i understand his frustration. he lost to 2 quality guys & deserves another shot.

he should watch what he say bc he might need to negotiate in the future & the last thing he needs is to be on the outside looking in AND be on dana's bad side

THIS

Rocha is a gamer, dude fought to a split with Ellenberger which is no easy task. I don't understand why he gets cut but a guy like Hardy is still employed

Because Hardy brings in the money as a fan favorite. lol Agree with you, though. Rocha faced two stiff wrestlers, and there's always a double standard when it comes to releasing fighters.

I have to agree with Rocha. Kinda BS.

He hadn't fought in awhile after the Ellenberger fight, which I think some people thought he won the fight, he definitely had Jake in trouble.

Then just got wrestled for 3 rounds by Pierce.

I don't want to throw out names, but Shane Roller is still with the UFC and he has lost his last 3 and fights on the next card.

I think Rocha could be a good talent, but didn't really get much of a chance to show anyone, with two tough matchups against top WW wrestlers.

This and what Rocha said. Pierce went in there, straight point fighting. When it hit the ground, he was back up, clinching against the cage and doing no damage (stalling), then would eventually land a trip, stand back up, rinse and repeat. Pierce didn't even wrestle him in a convincing Fitch manner, he just took some points for top position and take down, then got back up to do it again. I found this fight almost more unwatchable that Guida Maynard.

I don't think he deserved to be cut, but I can't even begin to explain how wrong the bolded part of his statement is.

Hopefully something was lost in translation.

I'm thinking, based on what I have seen from him in the cage, that the UFC has made a mistake. Rocha seemed to have a big upside, imo.

Stupid decision imo. He's a very good fighter and has fought two of the best his division has to offer. I would have liked to see him get another chance.

I too think this was premature, but did he really expect anything else from Pierce? there are 2 fighters inside the cage and both contribute to the outcome of the fight
